One of my favourite designers, Deena loves traditional clothing and techniques. Through her exquisite designs she showcases some of the best craftmanship from Pakistan. Deena’s philosophy is to create heirloom pieces which are elegant and timeless. Each of her designs takes months to create by a special team of artisans. Deena has an inimitable signature style and is undoubtedly one of the best in the industry.
Deena grew up in Lahore and created her label eight years ago, she wanted to celebrate traditional techniques and keep them alive. Distinctive features of her designs are both floral and geometric patterns. However, it’s her use of mixing different embroidery styles such as ‘kamdani’, ‘resham’, ‘gota’ and ‘dabka’ which is what I find most extraordinary and impressive.

This custom made outfit is one of my favourite pieces. An embellished work of art, this signature ‘lehnga choli’ by Deena Rahman is fully hand embroidered outfit using age-old techniques; ‘gota’, ‘kamdani’, ‘resham’, ‘sitara’ and ‘zardozi’ work combined. Having Deena create a bespoke piece for you is a really special experience. She was wonderful at ensuring the final garment was exactly what I had in mind and that it would fit to perfection. I really wanted some sort of floral embellishment which was incorporated both into the blouse and border of the lehnga.
